Who is eligible for a free NHS flu vaccine

You can get a free NHS flu vaccine from a pharmacy if:

  • you are 50 and over (including if you are 50 by 31 March 2022)
  • you have certain medical conditions:
    • asplenia/splenic dysfunction
    • chronic heart disease
    • chronic kidney disease
    • chronic liver disease
    • chronic neurological disease
    • chronic respiratory disease
    • diabetes
    • immunosuppression
    • learning disability
    • morbid obesity
  • you are pregnant
  • you are a frontline health & social care, primary care or hospice worker
  • you are a household contact of someone who is immunocompromised
  • you are a resident in a long-stay residential care home or care facility
  • you are employed through Direct Payment of Personal Health Budget

Children under 18 cannot get the flu vaccine at a pharmacy. But they may be able to get it from their GP surgery or school.
